Understanding of Lumion Error Importing Model
Generally, this error appears if you have created the file or model on SketchUp and try to import or load it on Lumion.
There are two common reasons for the Error Importing Model:
- Version incompatibility
- Library incompatibility
If you import your model on Lumion, it will give you the error “Error Importing model” or “Error” with the error message An error occurred while importing the model. Furthermore, as an error report, it will say Error opening file: and display the path of the file you are importing.

- Reopen your model in SketchUp and click on Save as.
- Save this file with a lower sketch-up version.
- Open the file saved with the lower sketch-up version on Lumion.
