How to fix Error-Product download consists of multiple files

Are you facing an error “Product download consists of multiple files. At least one file is missing or has not been downloaded yet.“ while installing AutoCAD?

Suppose you have downloaded AutoCAD or any other Autodesk setup file using a web browser and facing this error while installing the same. In that case, this article will help you to fix it.

Let me tell you the fundamental reasons for this error.

Most Autodesk products or applications consist of two or more files. If the file consists of two parts, the file name at the end will be 001_002.sfx.exe and 002_002.sfx.exe.

Why does Autodesk develop products in multiple files? The reason is to divide the big file into pieces. For example, if it is about AutoCAD 2018, the file size will be between 4 to 5 GB. Dividing this product into two parts makes file dealing in terms of downloading, uploading and sharing easy for users, publishers and developers.

• Check that your web browser’s pop-up blocker is off before downloading an Autodesk product. Follow the instructions below to
  • Google Chrome
    • Go to the settings of google chrome.
    • Click on Privacy and security on the left-hand side.
    • Choose the Site settings option under the Privacy and security option.
    • Click on pop-ups and redirects under the content option.
    • Tick Sites can send pop-ups and use the redirects option.
    • Close the browser and reopen it.
• Redownload the Autodesk product using the same browser after you disable the pop-up blocker.
• Make sure all downloaded files (for example 001_002.sfx.exe and 002_002.sfx.exe etc.) are saved in the same folder.
  • This is a very important point to be noted. Your Autodesk product will consist of multiple files. All files will be named with 00a_00x.sfx.exe. Here a and x indicate numbers as mentioned in the above points. You can also read like file number a out of x. the way we label page number out of the total page.
  • For example, AutoCAD 2018 consist of two files so the file name will be named with extension, (File Name)001_002.sfx.exe and (File Name)002_002.sfx.exe
  • As mentioned above if x is five and you have only four files in the folder it means one file is missing. in this case, you will get this error and the reason will be incomplete downloading.
• If you pause the downloading due to any reason or your internet stops in the middle of downloading, you can face this error. Make sure your internet is stable and you do not pause downloading process until it finishes downloading.
• Right-click on any of the .exe files and choose Run as administrator to initiate the installation.
