Today, we will learn, what is dynamic input in Autocad?
If you are using AutoCAD more frequently or at work, it is good to understand all the essential settings to help you work fast on AutoCAD. For Example, ortho mode, polar tracking, Dynamic Input, command window, command prompts, clean screen, ribbon etc.
In this article, we will talk about Dynamic Input. Dynamic Input is the tooltips command interface near the cursor in the AutoCAD drawing area. It provides an alternative way to insert a command, its value and other subsequent change to the command. Dynamic input is used so that the input of the command is given along with the moving cursor.
If the command is in progress, you can specify the options and command’s value in the tooltip text box. When Dynamic Input is turned on, it displays the current command, its value and other information related to the command. The actions required to complete the command are similar to those for the Command window.
If you do not know the full name of the command, you can insert its initial and the Dynamic Input tooltip will show the list of suggestions from the AutoCAD command library. If the AutoComplete and Autocorrect features are turned on, the program will automatically complete the command and offers correct spelling suggestions for the users to select. The major difference between the command window and Dynamic Input is that the Dynamic Input tooltips stay near the cursor.
The Dynamic input allows AutoCAD to provide feedback on the user’s actions. Users can think of these features as a chat window for communicating with AutoCAD as users enter commands, and AutoCAD responds with messages. Once users become more familiar with AutoCAD, they may find that they don’t need to rely much on the Dynamic input interface. However, for new and casual users, the Dynamic input tooltips can be helpful in understanding what steps to take as user work.
