How to fix the Error Autodesk Product is “Installed”?

Are you facing the error AutoCAD or any AutoDesk product is already “Installed or A newer version of this application is already installed on this computer”? Here I will show you how to fix the error if AutoCAD is already installed even though there is no AutoCAD on your computer. This error can appears during AutoCAD installation.

Reason for the Error – AutoCAD is already “Installed.”

When you install the AutoCAD and see the message that AutoCAD is already installed on your computer or installation gets complete, all the products flagged with green colour as installed as shown in the below image and the install button becomes grey unclickable. Still, when you check your computer, you do not find AutoCAD.

It means you have not removed all the traces or registries of your previous AutoCAD installations. So, your computer system identified this program as already installed. This situation does not allow you to proceed with a fresh installation, neither you can use that particular Autodesk product. I mean this problem you can face for any Autodesk product.

How to Fix the Error – AutoCAD product is already installed (For any Autodesk Products)

Method 01: How to Fix the Error – AutoDesk product is already “Installed” using Autodesk uninstall tool

This method will work for Windows 7 and onwards. Follow the below steps to fix the error AutoCAD is already “Installed”. All the methods will work for any Autodesk product.

  1. Disable antivirus, windows defender and firewall before performing the uninstallation process.

  1. Find the Autodesk folder.
Find the Autodesk Uninstall tool from Autodesk folder.

  1. Select the Autodesk product you want to uninstall correctly. For example, AutoCAD, Revit, Maya etc.

  1. Go to the Start menu, search and open Control Panel.
  2. Click on Programs or Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click on Autocad or Autodesk programs one by one and choose Uninstall to uninstall them.
  4. After removing all the Autodesk elements, restart your computer.
  5. Install the Autodesk product, which will be installed as a fresh installation without the error “AutoCAD is already Installed”.

Method 03: How to Fix the Error – AutoDesk product is already “Installed” using Revo uninstaller

This method works 98%. Follow the below steps to fix the error – AutoCAD is already “Installed”. using Revo uninstaller

  1. Download Revo Uninstaller free version.
  2. Install Revo Uninstaller.
  3. Disable antivirus, windows defender and firewall before performing the uninstallation process.
  4. Open Revo Uninstaller.
  5. Select the Autodesk product’s software or element one by one which you want to clear or uninstall.
  6. Uninstall using advance mode.
  7. Select all and click on delete or uninstall.
  8. After removing all traces of Autodesk product’s particular version, restart your computer.
  9. Install the Autodesk product, which will be installed as a fresh installation without the error “AutoCAD is already Installed”.

Method-04: How to Fix the Error – Autodesk product is already “Installed” using the tool Microsoft Installation Troubleshooter

  1. Go to this link and click on Download troubleshooter to download Microsoft Installation Troubleshooter.
  2. Run the downloaded file and click on the Next button.
  3. Click on Uninstalling option.
  4. Choose your Autodesk program and click on Yes, try uninstall.
  5. Repeat this until you remove all the elements of your Autodesk program, creating this problem.
  6. After removing all traces of Autodesk product’s particular version, restart your computer.
  7. Install the Autodesk product, which will be installed as a fresh installation without the error “AutoCAD is already Installed”.
